Corien is a member of the European Parliament for the EPP/CDA (Christian-Democratic Party) since 2004. Corien was born on June 27, 1959. In 1987 she obtained a Masters' degree in political science at the Free University of Amsterdam. After finishing her studies, Corien was a member of the board of an SME. From 1996-2004, she worked at the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, where she served as Deputy Director for Transport and Infrastructure.In the European Parliament she is Vice-President of the EPP-Group for social-economic and environmental policy.
